Software Design Challenges for Heterogenic SOC’s

Modern embedded systems often have a wide variety in workloads and tasks to perform. These tasks vary from sophisticated HMI’s, visualizing graphics or HR video and processor intensive data-analysis to the real time monitoring of multiple sensors and control of actuators such as servo-engines. How to bring these together on one heterogenic SOC?

Workloads and tasks in an embedded system can by divided in Cortex-A and Cortex-M tasks.
In the past, these tasks were handled by different microcontrollers and -processors. A new approach is the use of a heterogenic SOC, that brings these cores together on one SOC.
René Janssen, Product Manager at Logic Technology, is presenting an introduction in working with Heterogenic SOC’s at the D&E event in Belgium (Mechelen) and the Netherlands (‘s Hertogenbosch) on October 11th  and 12th, 2017.
